2017 ADMISSION SCREENING EXERCISE

(FOR UTME AND DIRECT ENTRY CANDIDATES)


Candidates who made the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife their first choice in the 2017 UTME and scored 200 and above, and those who applied for Direct Entry (DE) are hereby informed to log on to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife website (www.oauife.edu.ng) or admissions.oauife.edu.ng to register for the POST-UTME screening exercise effective from September 11, 2017. The candidates are required to click on “2017 ADMISSION SCREENING-UTME/DE APPLICANTS” link (or visit admissions.oauife.edu.ng directly) and login with their JAMB Registration Number to download RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) and use it to make payment online or at any commercial bank.


Applicants for the Screening Exercise will be required to do the following on the University admissions portal (admissions.oauife.edu.ng) after paying appropriate fees:

Update JAMB data

Upload Results (i.e WAEC, NECO, JUPEB, ND, NCE etc)

Upload scanned copy of credentials

Upload passport photograph (if not available)

Print completed Admission Screening form


The closing date for screening of all candidates UTME/DE is 22nd September 2017.


Candidates will also be required to participate in the Post-UTME Aptitude Test on their allotted date and time between 23rd and 30th September, 2017. Applicants should note that the fee for the Aptitude Test is N2,000.

FUTO postgraduate admission application form for the 2017/2018 academic session is out.[ How To Apply]

Federal University of Technology, Owerri, FUTO postgraduate admission application form for the 2017/2018 academic session is out.
The Postgraduate School, Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for consideration for admission into the under – listed Postgraduate Diploma, Masters and Doctorate Degree programmes for the 2017/2018 session Regular, Centre for Continuing Education(CCE), Centre for Women, Gender and Development Studies(CWGDS), Institute for Erosion Studies and Public Procurement Research Centre (PPRC).

FUTO POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS.

All candidates applying for any of the following postgraduate programmes must satisfy the basic matriculation requirements including O’ Level Credit Passes in English Language and Mathematics as required by the Department.
PGD:
  • Candidates applying for the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) programme must possess any of the following in addition to O’ Level Credit Passes in English Language and Mathematics and satisfying the basic matriculation requirements of the Department:
    • Higher National Diploma (HND) Lower Credit or above
    • Bachelors Degree in the relevant discipline from FUTO or any other recognized University with at least a Third Class Honours.
    • A good Bachelors Degree with at least Second Class Honours in other related disciplines.
PGD in Gender Studies:
  • Candidates applying for the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Gender Studies programme must possess any of the following:
    • Higher National Diploma (HND) Lower Credit or above
    • Bachelors Degree in the relevant discipline from FUTO or any other recognized University with at least a Third Class Honours.
    • A good Bachelors Degree with at least Second Class Honours in other related disciplines.
    • O’ level credit passes in English Language and Mathematics in addition to any other three subjects are also required for admission into the programmes as follows:
      • Gender and Development Studies/Entrepreneurship (Economics, Government or History, Commerce, Geography)
      • Gender and Science/Global Health (Chemistry, Biology, Physics)
      • Gender and Technology (Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Agricultural Science)
      • Gender and Agricultural Technology (Chemistry, Agricultural Science or Biology and Food nutrition or Home Economics)
M.Sc, M.Eng and MPH:
  • Candidates applying for the Master of Science (M.Sc), Master of Engineering (M.Eng), and Master of Public Health (MPH) programme must possess any of the following in addition to O’ Level Credit Passes in English Language and Mathematics and satisfying the basic matriculation requirements of the Department/Institute:
    • A Bachelors Degree with at least a Second Class Honours (lower division) qualification with a minimum of 2.50 CGPA on a 5-point scale or 2.00 CGPA on a 4-point scale in the related area from FUTO or from any other recognized University.
    • A Bachelors Degree with at least a Third Class Honours from a recognized University plus a PGD of not less than 3.00 CGPA on a 5-point scale and a 2.50 CGPA on a 4-point scale in the relevant area.
  • However, for M.Sc in Financial Management Technology and Management Technology, candidates must possess O’ Level Credit Passes in English Language, Mathematics Economics and any two subjects from Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science, andGeography
M.Sc in Optometry:
  • Candidates applying for the Master of Science (M.Sc) in Optometry programme must possess any of the following in addition to O’ Level Credit Passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry:
    • A Doctor of Optometry (O.D) degree with a minimum of 2.50 CGPA on a 5-point scale or 2.00 CGPA on a 4-point scale in the related area from FUTO or from any other recognized University.
    • Completion of one year internship programme and NYSC programme
M.Sc in Gender Studies:
  • Candidates applying for the Master of Science (M.Sc) in Gender Studies programme must possess any of the following:
    • Higher National Diploma (HND) Upper Credit or above plus PGD in Gender Studies
    • Bachelors Degree in the relevant discipline from FUTO or any other recognized University with at least a Third Class Honours.
    • A good Bachelors Degree with at least Second Class Honours in other related disciplines.
    • O’ level credit passes in English Language and Mathematics in addition to any other three subjects are also required for admission into the programmes as follows:

    • A good Honours Degree with at least a Second Class Honours (lower division) qualification with a minimum of 2.50 CGPA on a 5-point scale or 2.00 CGPA on a 4-point scale in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering and Management Technology from FUTO or from any other recognized University.
    • Graduates with Bachelors Degree from a recognized University with at least a Third Class Honours qualification plus a PGD of not less than 3.00 CGPA on a 5-point scale and a 2.5 CGPA on a 4-point scale in the relevant area.
    • Higher National Diploma (HND) lower credit or above plus a Postgraduate Diploma in relevant field may apply for the MBA programme
    • However, for MBA in Financial Management Technology and Management Technology candidates must possess O’ Level Credit Passes in English Language, Mathematics Economics and any two subjects from Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science, and Geography.
Ph.D:
  • Candidates applying for the Ph.D programme must possess any of the following in addition to O’ Level Credit Passes in English and Mathematics and satisfying the basic matriculation requirements of the Department/Institute:
    • A Master’s degree with a CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 point scale or 3.00 on a 4.00 point scale or its equivalent in the relevant areas from FUTO or any recognized University
    • Any other qualification as the University Senate may from time to time recognize/approve.

DURATION OF FUTO POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES.

  • Ph.D Programmes: A minimum of six (6) semesters and a maximum of ten (10) semesters for full-time, and minimum of eight (8) semesters and a maximum of fourteen (14) semesters for part-time students.
  • M.Sc, M.Eng, MPH and MBA Programmes: A minimum of three (3) semesters and a maximum of six (6) semesters for full-time, and minimum of four (4) semesters and a maximum of eight (8) semesters for part-time students
  • PGD Programmes: A minimum of two (2) semesters and a maximum of four (4) semesters for full-time, and minimum of four (4) semesters and a maximum of six (6) semesters for part-time students.
Note: Candidates with Bachelor or Master’s degree in Education (B.Ed and M.Ed) need not apply

HOW TO APPLY FOR FUTO POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION.

Candidates are advised to apply on-line following the procedure given below:
Step 1: Go to the FUTO Website –www.futo.edu.ng
Step 2: Click on Prospective Students.
Step 3: Go to PG Application Form
Step 4: Click on generate 2017/2018 PG Application Invoice
Step 5: Enter your Personal Email Address
Step 6: Click on Sign In
Step 7: Print your invoice containing your RRR number (Remita Retrieval Reference) and proceed to the bank for payment or make payment via ATM card.
Step 8: Go to any bank with your invoice and pay a non-refundable fee of Eleven Thousand Three Hundred Naira (N11,300.00) for FUTO PGS Regular or CCE (Weekend) or IWoGDS or IES or PPRC application depending on your interest.
Step 9: Return to Step 3 above (Click on Fill PG Application Form) Step 10: Enter your Personal Email Address again to proceed
Step 11: Fill the on-line form accordingly
NOTE: Make sure the referee email address supplied is valid as a referee form  link would be sent to your referees for completion online.
Step 12: Print out a copy of the Acknowledgement Slip when the form is  completed. Also an acknowledgement would be sent to the email address you provided while filling the form. Therefore make sure you provide a valid personal e-mail address.
Step 13: Submit/Mail the printed Acknowledgement Slip with your credentials to the Deputy Registrar/Secretary, Postgraduate School, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria.

Application for admission into the HND programs will be required to have the following
qualifications:
1. National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in the relevant Field and five
(5) relevant ‘O’ Level credit passes at WASC, GCE, NECO and NABTEB at not more
than two sittings. The credit passes must include English Language and Mathematics.
(a) Evidence of one year Post ND cognate experience (Industrial Training)
(b) Applicants with Pass Grade in the ND will be required to have at least two (2)
years Post National Diploma Industrial Experience

FUTMINNA POST UTME & DIRECT ENTRY SCREENING – IMPORTANT DATES

University of Technology, Minna, FUTMINNA post UTME/Direct Entry screening exercise application form for the 2017/2018 academic session is out. FUTMINNA post UTME cut-off mark is 180 and above.

Authorities of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) invite applications from suitably qualified candidates to apply for the institution post UTME/Direct Entry screening exercise for the 2017/2018 academic session.
date for Online Registration:
00.01hrs Thursday, 31stAugust, 2017.
00.01hrs Monday, 9thOctober, 2017.
Close of Online Registration:
12.00hrs midnight on Friday 13thSeptember, 2017.
12.00hrs midnight on Sunday, 22ndOctober, 2017.
Dates of Screening exercise:
Monday 18th – Friday 22ndSeptember, 2017.
Tuesday, 24th to Thursday, 26thOctober, 2017.
Candidates are hereby notified that the screening exercise shall be conducted using the Computer-Based Test (CBT) platform.

CANDIDATES ELIGIBLE FOR FUTMINNA POST UTME & DE SCREENING.

(i) Only UTME and DE candidates who selected Federal University of Technology, Minna are eligible for the screening exercise.
(ii) UTME candidates must have a minimum UTME score of 180, except for those courses for which higher cut-off marks have been indicated
iii)       Candidates MUST meet the minimum UTME scores for their chosen courses, have the right UTME subject combinations as prescribed in the JAMB Brochure and the requisite ‘O’ Level subjects at credit level.
(iv)       However, candidates who do not meet any of the above requirements will be allowed to change to any other course whose requirements are met by the candidates.  The change of course will attract a processing fee of N1,000 only payable at the screening venue.
(v)        All candidates must possess a minimum of five ‘O’ Level credits including Mathematics and English Language at not more than two sittings in subjects relevant to their proposed courses.
(vi)       Only ‘O’ Level result print-out(s) downloaded directly from the website(s) of the national examining bodies (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) or photocopies of the original certificate(s) will be accepted for verification.  Candidates that already have their ‘O’ Level results MUST bring the results to the screening venue.  Failure to do so will result in disqualification of candidates.
(vii)      Candidates awaiting results will be allowed to participate in the UPASE but MUST submit such results not later than Friday 30th September, 2017.  For submission of such results, candidates are to go back to their registration page on the University website to update their records or submit hard copies of the results to the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at the Main Campus, Gidan Kwano.
  (viii)     Candidates that choose to submit their results online should print the acknowledgement slips after uploading.

NOTE:  Any false declaration could lead to a candidate’s disqualification at any stage of the admission process.

HOW TO FUTMINNA POST UTME/DIRECT ENTRY SCREENING.

UTME Candidates
Click on “2017/2018 UPASE”
On the page that appears, click on‘UPASE-UTME Login’
  • Enter your JAMB registration number.
  • Enter one of your names.
  • Click on ‘Login’.
  • On a page that appears, you are required to upload your recent coloured passport photograph in JPG format (Width 150 px, Height 170 px).
  • Choose another course from the list of departments if your UTME/’O’ level subject combinations do not meet the minimum requirements for the course registered with JAMB.
 NOTE:           The system automatically detects if you have the required UTME subject combination and the minimum score for the programme selected.
  • Status of ‘O’ Level results(click on the appropriate box).
  • Click on ‘Proceed to payment gateway’.
  • Confirm your entries.
  • Click on the payment link button to proceed to payment gateway.
  • Payment is done through Debit Card (MasterCard – Most preferred) or Verve (only the ones enabled for online payment) or Bank branch (by generating RRR from application portal).
  • Enter ATM Debit card details (Card number, expiry date, CVV 2 i.e the 3 digits behind your card, and pin number)
 NOTE:            This automatically debits N2,250.00 only (the N250 is service charge for the Interswitch platform).
  • If payment is successful, the screen will display all the data you previously entered.
  • Click on the ‘Print’ button to print the document
  • Keep the printout and take it to the UPASE venue
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SCREENING EXERCISE
All eligible candidates are required to come on the date indicated on their scheduling slips.
Candidates are to report at the Suleiman Kumo Convocation Square at the University Main Campus, Gidan-Kwano along Minna-Bida road with the following:
  • A printout of the 2017/2018 UTME result slip bearing the candidate’s passport photograph (the Passport should not be affixed).  The title of the course/programme of choice should be boldly written by the candidate on top of the result slip.
  • The printed 2017/2018 University Pre-Admission Screening Exercise (UPASE) scheduling slip.
  • A writing material (Biro or Pencil).
  • A simple scientific calculator (non-programmable) without cover.
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • No candidate will be allowed to participate in the screening exercise without complying with the above requirements.
  • The Main Campus at Gidan Kwano along Minna-Bida road is about 20 km away from the Bosso Campus of the University, which is inside Minna town.
  • Candidates without personal vehicles may board commercial buses at the rate of N80 to N100 at the Bosso Campus of the University.
  • Candidates are not allowed to bring GSM handsets or similar electronic gadgets into the screening hall.  Such item(s) will be seized and will not be returned to the owners.
  • Impersonation is a serious offence and anyone caught impersonating will be handed over to the law enforcement agents.
  • Any registered candidate who fails to report for the screening exercise on the date and time specified on the print-out automatically loses his or her chance of being screened for admission.
  • Candidates are advised to arrive at the Suleiman Kumo Convocation Square at the Main Campus, Gidan Kwano on the scheduled dates for the screening exercise at least one hour prior to the scheduled time on their slips.
